Summary0004196: Some sort of reward for killing basic enemies.
DescriptionI think avoiding combat is a little too strongly rewarded. With health and mana not regenerating, and the requirement to expend these resources on infinitely spawning enemies... there should be some sort of benefit for people who don't want to avoid combat. I like how the XP system works currently, so a different type of player reward would be good.

Possible rewards:
Defeating enemies depletes/damages spawners
Defeating enemies can cause a microboss to spawn in to defend his peons ( which would reward xp )
Rare drops with largely aesthetic/non-game-altering application
Earning re-rolls on the character pool on spawning
Mana potion drops ( just to offset the mana cost, not applicable to farming )
Boosting town-gathered resources in a zone for the turn
or...whatever else.


Never before AVWW did i consider how hard it would be to see pygmy rhinos in the dark.

The tricky thing is that it's very, very, very important to us that you never feel that there's a need to "grind" normal monsters. I've been thinking for months about a way to make killing them less pointless without making it an incentive for grinding, and haven't found one. All of the above would encourage grinding, with the exception of instant hp/mp boosts which Chris has already put on his list. Even there it may lead to some brief grinding but it's probably not too bad.
